The visit, promoted through the External Relations Committee of Foment del Treball, brought together representatives from both countries to explore business collaboration opportunities.
Foment del Treball Nacional has welcomed a delegation from EGİAD (Ege Genç İşadamları Derneği), the Aegean Young Businesspeople Association of Turkey, led by its president M. Kaan Özhelvacı. The meeting takes place within the framework of the international relations agenda of the Catalan business federation, founded in 1771, which represents over 100 sectoral associations and approximately 250,000 companies in the region.
The visit was promoted by Maria Helena de Felipe Lehtonen, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Foment del Treball and Chair of its External Relations Committee, as part of her ongoing work to build strategic alliances with international business organisations. De Felipe Lehtonen hosted the delegation and chaired the working sessions.
The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of Turkey in Barcelona, H.E. Ms. Ayşe Zeybek, accompanied by the commercial attaché, underscoring the institutional and diplomatic significance of the initiative.
Discussions centred on collaboration opportunities between the Spanish and Turkish business ecosystems, with particular focus on strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems, developing joint projects in innovation and digital transformation, promoting sustainability-oriented practices, and increasing trade and investment flows between both countries.
The visit to Foment del Treball forms part of the EGİAD Barcelona Business Trip, taking place from 8 to 12 April 2026, which also includes visits to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and an AI Factory, alongside other institutional meetings and social programmes.
